We assist the hospital to fill staffing needs to each unit as assessed on a shift to shift basis. With a continuous change in census and acuity throughout the hospital, the NRP staff is flexible and is trained to provide safe, effective, patient and family- centered care. We treat a multiple range of patients and enjoy the variety of working in different settings. Forty-two percent of NRP registered nurses are OCN-certified. NRP nurses also hold certifications in pediatric oncology, pain management, critical care, radiology and medical-surgical.The ideal candidate will have a BSN Degree with at least two years of ICU and Medical/Surgical experience.Essential Job Functions:Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area. Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team. Collaborates with physicians, other services, patient and patient's family to plan care and evaluate outcomes. Improves practice by integrating results and theories of research studies. Participates in data collection for current studies. Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services. Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights. Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducationRequired: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.Preferred: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.ExperienceRequired: One year of clinical nurse experience.Preferred: Two years of oncology experience, with recent experience administering IV chemotherapy.Licensure/CertificationRequired: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.Preferred: Licensure/Certification Preferred Certification in oncology or specialty practice area. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160).Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. No experience required.
